2016 AFL Hawks Richmond

Our AFL betting tips ended up with a small profit last week after 2/4 tips got up at odds above $2. It looks like another big weekend of footy coming up and hopefully we can pick some more winners as we offer our 2016 AFL Round 7 betting tips.

Richmond vs Hawthorn (Friday, May 6)

Richmond defeated the Hawks the last time these two teams met, but it’s unlikely they will get the win this time. Surprisingly it is the Hawks who are coming into this on the back of a demoralizing defeat. The Giants smashed them by 75 points last week and they also lost Luke Hodge to injury. Some would say this means the Tigers are a chance to get a win. But lets remember how woeful the Tigers have been this season and how they couldn’t even get a win over Port Adelaide who didn’t have their best players. Thinking the Hawks rebound strongly here.

Tip: Hawthorn by 40+ points – $1.92 at CrownBet

Collingwood vs Carlton (Saturday, May 7)

The Pies taking on the Blues at the MCG is usually one of the biggest games of the year, but some of the excitement has fizzled out considering how terrible these teams have been in 2016. The Blues have won two in a row and will be hoping to overcome their bitter rivals to make it three. However, Collingwood are simply the better team. They ended up being thumped by the Eagles last week, but played half the game very strongly. Just a little bit of that will be needed to take care of the Blues. I do think the young Blues will stand up and put in a solid effort. They will also be bolstered by the return of Patrick Cripps who missed last week. Taking Collingwood in a relatively competitive game.

Tip: Collingwood by 1-39 points (under 39.5) – $2.15 at CrownBet

Geelong vs West Coast (Saturday, May 7)

There has been a lot of chatter around this game about how the Eagles struggle to travel. They haven’t won on the road in 6 games, so why should we think they will win down in Geelong on Saturday? It would be almost too easy to just say the Eagles can’t win away games, but in general I think the Cats are a very tough team. The combo of Dangerfield and Selwood is proving a headache for opponents and they are scoring strongly aswell. The Eagles are one of the better teams in the competition, but they will no doubt find this one too tough.

Tip: Geelong UNDER 39.5 – $2.15 at CrownBet

St Kilda vs Nth Melbourne (Sunday, May 8)

A Mother’s Day clash between the Saints and Nth Melbourne at Etihad this Sunday looks like it could be one of the best games of the round. The Saints are a tough young emerging side and I think they could push the Roos. Their midfield is very good and when Nick Riewoldt is playing well (as he did during St Kilda’s win last week), they cause teams headaches. I do think the Roos will win, but I’m thinking it could be a close game.

Tip: Nth Melbourne by 1-24 points – $3.25 at CrownBet
