2016 AFL Round 11 Betting Tips
Friday night footy will take place in Tasmania for the first time in AFL history as the Tigers take on the Roos in Hobart to kick off a big weekend. Make sure to read on as we offer 2016 AFL Round 11 betting tips.
North Melbourne vs. Richmond (June 3, Blundstone Arena)
The AFL’s first ever Friday night fixture in Tasmania shapes as an intriguing battle between North Melbourne and Richmond. The Roos started the season in impressive fashion but were handed their first loss last Friday night against a rampant Sydney outfit. Brad Scott’s men will look to respond but could face stiff competition in a Richmond team that has won its past three matches. The Tigers have looked like a completely different side to earlier this season and we all know just how important confidence is in football. With Brett Deledio, Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin in good form, do not rule out the Tigers here with a win potentially keeping their finals chances alive.
Tip: Richmond 1 – 39 ($3.15) at CrownBet
Fremantle vs. Essendon (June 4, Subiaco)
This is a season that has gone from bad to worse for the Dockers and despite entering as premiership contenders, they are yet to record a win. But surely against the ASADA-ravaged Essendon, and on their home deck, this will be the week the drought breaks. David Mundy back in the side helps their strength around the midfield and the Bombers will also be without one of its better players this season in James Kelly. Expect the Bombers to have their moments in this match, but Fremantle will get their first points on Saturday night.
Tip: Fremantle by 1 – 39 ($2.10) at CrownBet
Geelong vs. Greater Western Sydney (June 4, Simonds Stadium)
In what should be one of the matches of the round, the Cats square off against the Giants for the second time this season. Geelong has their back against the wall at the moment coming off back-to-back disappointing losses to Collingwood and Carlton. Earlier in the season the Giants accounted for the Cats comfortably but coach Chris Scott will hope it is a different story on their home deck. An interesting subplot to the match is the Geelong return for Steve Johnson, who will no doubt love nothing more than putting on another show for a crowd that has been so good to him over the years. If the Giants can contain the midfield dominance of Paddy Dangerfield, I am expecting a win for them.
Tip: GWS by 1 – 39 ($3.10) at CrownBet
Western Bulldogs vs. West Coast Eagles (June 5, Etihad Stadium)
Expect a fast-paced, exciting match up at Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs enter as slight favourites but looked shaky at times in last week’s win over Collingwood. Most pundits would considered the boys from the Whitten Oval lucky to escape with a win last week and it will face tougher opposition on Sunday. West Coast have looked a million dollars over in Perth but question marks still remain about the club’s ability to beat strong opposition sides in Melbourne. With Andrew Gaff returning from concussion, he will provide plenty of run for the Eagles and relish the fast track of Etihad Stadium.
Tip: West Coast by 1 – 39 ($2.60) at CrownBet
