2016 AFL Round 10 Betting

The tenth week of the 2016 AFL season is looking very interesting from start to finish with the round kicking off in Sydney as the Swans take on the Roos. Find out what we are thinking with our 2016 AFL Round 10 betting tips

Sydney vs. North Melbourne (27 May, SCG)

Despite a hiccup against Richmond a fortnight ago, the Swans are all the rage at the moment and are coming off a solid win over reigning premiers Hawthorn last Friday night. Its marquee player in Lance Franklin is in devastating form at present and will be a nightmare for the North Melbourne defence to contain. The Roos are unbeaten so far in 2016 but I expect that to change on Friday night with the boys from Arden Street coming crashing back down to Earth.

Tip: Sydney by 40 + – $2.95 at CrownBet

Melbourne vs. Port Adelaide (28 May, Traeger Park)

This is one of the more intriguing matches of the round with both sides on the outskirts of the final eight. There is a different feel about the Demons this season and you get the feeling they enter each match confident of recording a win. This will undoubtedly be the expectation this week as they travel to the Northern Territory on the back of two losses. The Power are a hard side to judge, but showed last week they can still match it with the top sides after an eight-point loss to West Coast. This is a tough match to predict but expect a big performance from the ruck-midfield duo of Max Gawn and Jack Viney to lead the Demons to a win.

Tip: Melbourne by 1 – 39 – $2.10 at CrownBet

Richmond vs. Essendon (28 May, MCG)

One of the best spectacles on the football calendar is on Saturday night with the annual Dreamtime at the ‘G clash. The Tigers have found its mojo in recent weeks with wins over Sydney and Fremantle and some ambitious supporters are starting to mention the remote possibility of a finals appearance not being out of the question. Trent Cotchin was superb last week and generally has a good record against the Bombers. Essendon are coming off a loss to St Kilda but managed to put up a fight in the first half. I suspect they will lift to the occasion this week and take the challenge right up to the Tigers before eventually succumbing late in the match.

Tip: Richmond by 1 – 39 – $2.40 at CrownBet

Collingwood vs. Western Bulldogs (29 May, MCG)

The Magpies got the monkey of its back last week in emphatic style with a big win over one of the competition’s premiership favourites in Geelong. That alone should inspire enough confidence among the group that consecutive wins are very achievable. The Bulldogs will certainly be no pushovers and will be looking to make amends for last week’s loss to GWS. But there is no doubt that Collingwood are more familiar with the MCG and if Steele Sidebottom, Scott Pendlebury and Adam Treloar are allowed freedom through the midfield it could be another black and white win.

Tip: Collingwood by 1 – 39 – $3.50 at CrownBet
