2016-17 NBA Betting Tips – Wednesday, November 16th
Welcome back to another BetKing NBA best bets column ahead of a five-game slate on Wednesday the 16th of November (AEDT). We went 2-1 on our last set of tips to take the season total to 10-4 at average odds of $1.90.
Best bets for tomorrow listed below!
Brooklyn Nets at Los Angeles Lakers (2.30pm AEDT)
After a big win in Phoenix, the Brooklyn Nets were very disappointing against the red-hot Los Angeles Clippers. That same Clippers team has been on a tear this season though and has destroyed almost all in its path. Brooklyn now face the Lakers on the second day of a back-to-back but they do welcome back their best player Brook Lopez.
Lopez sat out the game against the Clippers (rest) and had a night to forget in Phoenix. He is well poised for a bounce back game against the Lakers who have played well in season 2016/17 so far but are still vulnerable to a big blowout defensively. Lopez’s rebounding numbers are down so far this season (7.8 to 4.8) largely due to Trevor Booker’s presence in the team. He is still averaging a total of 25.4 points and rebounds total per game, however. We think he bounces back and covers the following Sportsbet line comfortably.
TIP: Brook Lopez points + rebounds total OVER 25.5 – $1.87 at Sportsbet
Confidence Level: 80%
Sean Kilpatrick has stepped into the starting role since Jeremy Lin went down with an injury and has played well. However, he is logging minutes he isn’t used to and on the second night of a road back-to-back the line looks high on his points total. He is projected to only have 13 points on our ratings and looks a nice play on the under.
TIP: Sean Kilpatrick UNDER 17 points – $1.87 at Sportsbet
Confidence Level:75%
Toronto Raptors at Cleveland Cavaliers (11am AEDT)
Toronto and Cleveland are two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and they are set to face off for the second time in 2016/17. The Cavs won the first meeting 94-91 in Toronto and are favoured this time around by 5.5 points back home in Cleveland. The Raptors are well rested which would also have given them some time to work on some schemes for the Cavs. One thing we are confident they will do is try to slow them down offensively and reduce the easy buckets the Cavs can get. They are a physical team and will fancy themselves of keeping it close if it’s a tough grind.
TIP: UNDER 208.5 total points @ $1.91 Sportsbet
Confidence Level: 75%
Atlanta Hawks at Miami Heat (11.30am AEDT)
The Miami Heat are 2-7 so far but have played better than the record suggests. They’ve also lost to some good teams (Raptors, Thunder, Hornets and Spurs twice!). The bookmakers appear to have overreacted to the early record and set this line 2.5 points too high.
The Atlanta Hawks on the other hand, are 7-2 and their new recruit Dwight Howard has had moments of brilliance but they have only played two of their last seven on the road and have beaten the 76ers twice. They are a better team than the Heat but by no more than 5 on a neutral court. This is played in Miami where the Heat dominated last season (28-13) compared to a 20-21 record on the road. Take the points on the home team!
TIP: Miami Heat +6.5 – $1.95 at Sportsbet
Confidence Level: 75%
