Detroit Pistons @ Brooklyn Nets
After a pretty ordinary start to the season against the Raptors the Detroit Pistons have played like a legitimate playoff contender. The young core is only getting better and they are very well coached. The Nets on the other hand are an absolute lock to be in the worst four teams in the league by seasons end and nothing we’ve seen so far tells us otherwise. Aside from perhaps playing Philadelphia at home, they should be getting minimum five points in every game they play against full strength teams. We assessed this spread at -6.5 and see some value in the early number.

A really great bet in this game we just have to share with the punters. Bojan Bogdanovic is one of very few good shooters on the Brooklyn Nets team. Especially now that the Nets are also without Randy Foye through injury. He’s made two or more three-point field goals in four of his last five games for the Nets. 7-20 in three games so far this season indicating he is not afraid to let it fly from outside of the ark. Brook Lopez will struggle to score up against the big body of Andre Drummond and this will create more shooting opportunities late in the clock for players like Bojan.

Toronto Raptors @ Washington Wizards
Toronto sit 2-1 after sneaking past the Nuggets on Tuesday (Australian time) and they rate as one of the better teams in the Eastern conference. They’ve proven to be a much better team at home and we see some value betting against them this time. The Wizards on the other hand are set to play their first home game of the season off the back of two tough road losses and they need a victory to get the start of their season back on track. Every game will count for them as they shoot for not only a playoff berth but a first round home court advantage.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Atlanta Hawks
One of our favourite markets to exploit is taking the points on underdog road teams early in the season. Particularly on young teams like the Lakers who will be better on the road prior to Christmas. This line is simply too high. The Lakers are much improved and despite having some lapses from time to time can compete now and at times even beat good teams.
Atlanta is not the team they were in recent years although still a solid team that will win 44-54 games this season on our numbers. They aren’t good enough to be spotting 11 this early on in the season to a hungry and talented young Laker team though. This looks three points too high and we will hope the young Laker pups can hold on in their last game of this road trip before returning to Staples to face the Warriors.
