Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs (Thursday 12.30pm AEDT)
The Warriors enter this match on the second of a back-to-back set after they extended their winning streak to eight games with a win against Western Conference rivals the Houston Rockets. It is a big ask for the Warriors to enter the Spurs game with a lot of energy after a gruelling match against the Rockets. They raced out to an early lead as they usually do but their lack of a bench proved costly as the gap was shortened by half time. However the side never relinquished the lead as they continue to improve without the services of Kevin Durant.
Meanwhile the Spurs continue to fly under the radar as they cruise in second position in the Eastern Conference. They are coming off a huge victory against the defending champions the Cavaliers. Their teamwork continues to amaze as the Greg Popovic coached side is clinical. Khawai Leonard is a real contender for MVP as he competes on both ends of the court but Lamarcus Aldridge is continuing to struggle. However, considering it is a back-to-back set for the Warriors and on the Spurs court we are predicting them to come away with the win and by a narrow margin.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Orlando Magic (Thursday 10am AEDT)
Russell Westbrook is another MVP candidate and his remarkable tally of three triple doubles has reached 37. He is four off the all time record with nine games remaining and we know he will be out to get another one in this contest. The point guard has been critical in the last few weeks and none of his performances were better in the clutch than in the last game against the Mavericks. The Thunder went on a 14-0 run in the final 5 minutes to win the match, with Westbrook scoring 12 of those points, including the go ahead bucket. He is carrying the Thunder and they will earn a big win in this one.
The Magic’s rebuilding process is continuing and after trading away Serge Ibaka they shut down for the season. The side doesn’t have much rim protection which is a bad sign when they are coming up against one of the best drivers in the game. The magic are second last in the Eastern conference and they won’t be competitive in this one, even on their home court.

Washington Wizards at Los Angeles Clippers (Thursday 1.30pm AEDT)
The Clippers head into this match with next to no momentum. The side had a 14 point lead against the Kings with less than 5 minutes remaining and completely shut off. A side that has ‘title aspirations’ should not be letting a lead like this slip, especially against a side that isn’t in playoff contention. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul need to step up and we predict they will prove the critics wrong and come out in this match looking to explode. Hopefully for their sake the loss was a wake up call and not a sign of things to come. They will be missing JJ Redick for this contest which will hurt their ability to spread the floor but Austin Rivers has proved he can perform with extra minutes this season.
Meanwhile the Wizards are hot right now and are on a four game winning streak. This is their second of a back-to-back set after they were pushed all the way from the Lakers. John Wall came up huge for them as he has done all season and it will be a good battle between him and Paul in this one. Griffin should get the advantage down low and the home court advantage will get the Clippers over the line in a tight one.
