NBA betting basketball

We started the season in solid fashion nailing all three of our suggested bets on what turned out to be a very eventful opening night of NBA action.

Tomorrow there is a huge slate of games and plenty of betting angles on offer. We’ve listed our absolute best bets below!

Phoenix @ Oklahoma City (Sat, Oct 29th at 11am

The post Kevin Durant era started with a win for the Oklahoma City Thunder in Philadelphia but that form as we will find out in coming weeks is pretty hollow. The Phoenix Suns were pretty ordinary against the Kings at home to kick off the season and will be out to make amends against the Thunder.

Last season the Suns were a mess on and off the court and the injuries piled up making it very hard for them gain any momentum at all. There is enough talent on the roster however for them to compete when healthy and the spread feels a few points too high at this early stage of the year.

Suggested bet: Phoenix Suns +9 – $1.95 at William Hill
Confidence level: 75%

Charlotte @ Miami (Sat, Oct 29 at 11am)

The tale of two similar situations. The Hornets have lost some depth in Big Al and Jeremy Lin but still have the nucleus of a competitive team. Miami have lost D-Wade and Chris Bosh but once again have enough talent to be competitive. Goran Dragic is one player who should thrive this season without Wade taking touches away.

Of the two we’ve got Charlotte ranked as clearly the better team and the home court advantage Miami has is quite minimal especially at this early stage of the season. We’ve assessed this as a pick’em and happy to take the $2+ for the Bugs.

Suggested bet: Charlotte to win – $2.15 at Ladbrokes
Confidence level: 75%

Houston @ Dallas (Sat, Oct 29 at 11:30am

Houston were exciting but couldn’t get the job done against the improving and entertaining Lakers to kick off the season. The Rockets are basically playing in the hands of James Harden in the absence of Patrick Beverly at the point guard position. Harden stuffed the stat-sheet in Game 1 and will likely do so again here.

The Mavericks scored a good tough win in overtime over the Pacers to start the season and their team on paper is better than it was last year with the additions of Barnes and Bogut to go with their list of savvy veterans. At home, they seem to be underrated in the market.

Suggested bet: Dallas Mavericks -1.5 $1.95 at William Hill
Confidence level: 75%

Golden State @ New Orleans (Sat, Oct 29 at 12:30pm

Golden State were very disappointing on opening night as the San Antonio Spurs did an absolute number on them on their home court. They’ll be out to make amends against the Pelicans who look a very ordinary team on paper.

Anthony Davis gave his all and put up a massive 50 points in Game 1. He took 34 field goal attempts on that night and played 41 minutes. This team might be bad but he is going to go down swinging! In a high scoring game he should be one of few Pelicans that can find the basket.

Suggested bet: Anthony Davis OVER 27 points – $1.87 Sportsbet
Confidence levels: 75%
