2016-17 EPL: Chelsea vs Manchester City Betting Tips

Chelsea Man City EPL Preview
The English Premier League title race will take a decisive turn when leaders Chelsea play host to Manchester City at the Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night. Chelsea have a comfortable lead atop the standings notwithstanding their surprising loss to Crystal Palace in the last round.

City will look to cut that lead to four points and present a huge opportunity for the visitors to gate crash the title race. Either way, this match presents an opportunity for the top-six one way or the other. No wonder that all eyes are on Stamford Bridge!

Season so far
Chelsea have been meticulous in their title charge and lead the standings with 69 points from 29 matches. The loss to Palace has raised the hopes of challengers but the Blues still have a seven-point lead at the moment.

City have been blowing hot and cold under Pep Guardiola the whole season. At 58 points from 29 games, they are 11-points off the toppers Chelsea. Fans and players would like to believe that they are still alive in the title race although the danger of missing out on top-four spot is equally pertinent.

Chelsea back to winning ways?
Antonio Conte’s side were given a reality check on Saturday by Palace but the Blues have enough quality to get their title challenge back on track. It’s rare for Chelsea to lose back-to-back in Premier League at home – one has to go back to 2011 November when they did so under Andre Villas-Boas.

Guardiola’s side drew 2-2 with Arsenal on Sunday blowing their lead twice and having the Gunners at their mercy. With just nine games left to play, this could be the visitors’ last chance to get into the title race.

The reverse fixture at the Etihad saw Chelsea win 3-1 in December. That was a feisty encounter that saw Sergio Aguero and Fernando pick red cards. The Blues are hot favorites to do the double at odds of $2.40 (bet365) while City are backed at odds of $3.10 (bet365) to breathe life into the title race.

Draw at odds of $3.50 (bet365) isn’t a bad punt either but Chelsea should get back to winning ways.
Both teams are free-scoring and at odds of $1.57 (William Hill), backing both sides to score is a worthy punt.

TIP: Both teams to score – $1.57 at William Hill

Aguero at odds of $2.30 (William Hill) looks a good punt to score anytime during the match. For the Blues, Diego Costa at odds of $2 (Ladbrokes) looks a good punt.

TIP: Sergio Aguero to score – $2.30 at William Hill
