The 2016 English Premier League will resume rivalries this weekend with Chelsea and Liverpool fighting it out at the Stamford Bridge on Friday, September 16th. With both sides out of European action this season and having started brightly, there are hopes that this match could be a thriller.
Season so far
Chelsea stand second on the table after four games with an unbeaten run so far that fetched them 10 points. The Blues are not yet back to their best but under Antonio Conte they seem to have recovered some of the swagger that was missing last year.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will be waiting for the fitness reports of Dejon Lovren and Emre Can both of whom look tentative for this vital clash.

Both teams are capable of playing breathtaking football which makes this match all the more entertaining. The recent upsurge in Diego Costa’s form is a happy sign for Chelsea who also are reaping the benefits of Eden Hazard rediscovering his magic touch. Liverpool aren’t bad either with Firmino and Sadio Mane leading the charge.
