BBL06 Chris Lynn

As we move deeper into the season, BBL06 is witnessing many closer matches – thanks to the fight for supremacy. Round 5 will be played from January 5 – 8 and we take a look at the action in store here with our Big Bash Betting Tips

Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat at The WACA (Jan 5, 4:10 PM local)

A top-of-the-table clash is always fascinating to watch during the Big Bash League. The Scorchers have been their usual self, winning matches serenely – three wins out of four. Heat have won their first three and could come to this match top of the pile (ahead of their match against Sixers scheduled for January 3).
Ian Bell is fast turning out to be a great addition for the Scorchers with his consistent displays. Mitchell Mars is also enjoying the hard-hitting. Equally impressive is the pairing of David Willey and Mitchell Johnson with the ball. Can the Scorchers continue their impressive start?

Heat were no less impressive starters riding on the aggressive batting of Brendon McCullum and Chris Lynn. Samuel Badree has been solid, while Mark Steketee is impressing with his control.

Tip: Heat to win the match

Adelaide Strikers vs Hobart Hurricanes at Adelaide Oval (Jan 6, 6:40 PM local)

The Strikers had an indifferent start to the BBL06 season, picking just one win out of their first four games. Brad Hodge and Ben Dunk are the lone warriors with the bat, while Travis Head’s success with the ball is outshining his runs in the middle. The Strikers need to quickly regroup and start winning to keep themselves in the hunt.
Hurricanes had a mixed bag of two wins out of four matches including one over Strikers in Hobart. Tim Paine continues to be consistent with the bat while D’Arcy Short is turning out to be the surprise package. But can the Hurricanes get some consistency?

Tip: Strikers to win the match

Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars at Etihad (Jan 7, 7:10 PM local)

The Renegades have started well with two wins out of three games including a New Year Day derby win. Aaron Finch is enjoying the captaincy including surprising opponents with Tom Cooper opening the bowling and Sunil Narine opening the batting. Can the Renegades continue to surprise?
The Stars won one and lost one ahead of this game at the time of writing – their match against Thunder is scheduled for Wednesday, January 4th. Luke Wright continues to be consistent with runs at the top while James Faulkner and Adam Zampa remain their best bets with the ball. Can they avenge the loss on New Year Day?

Tip: Renegades to win the match

Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Thunder at Blundstone Arena (Jan 8, 7:10 PM local)

Hurricanes will play their second game in three days and will look to find some winning momentum. Kumar Sangakkara should rise his game to ease the batting burden on Tim Paine while bowling still looks a quality player short.
Thunder couldn’t really get going yet with misfiring stars highlighting their problems. The fact that Pat Cummins is excelling with the bat should be an indicator of their woes. Can they find a spark that ignites their season?

Tip: Hurricanes to win the match
