2016-17 A-league Round 8 Betting Multi
The 2016-17 A-league season continues this weekend and we look to improve on last week’s multi after a couple of late goals cost us a big payday last week.
To kick things off this week we will be getting behind Perth Glory who are on the road against the Central Coast Mariners. The Glory let a crucial opportunity slip in the opening round of the season against this weekend’s opponents when they let a 3-0 lead at half time turn into a 3-3 draw. They won’t be making the same mistake and they will enter this game with a lot of energy in an attempt to right their wrongs. The Mariners are coming off a 1-1 draw with rivals Newcastle Jets but they were lucky to escape with a competition point. The side was under the pump for the majority of the game and they owe the draw to their goal keeper. We aren’t expecting them to be as luck this weekend as the Glory will be able to find the back of the net with a lot more ease.
In our second leg we will be predicting Melbourne Victory to get one over the Newcastle Jets. The Victory had the week off last week but over the past month have been showing signs that they are returning to their best form. They haven’t been the powerhouse that every club fears to play against for over a year now but after a huge win over the Phoenix and an unlucky defeat against Sydney FC, the Victory are on the up. Meanwhile the Jets weren’t able to finish their chances against the Mariners last weekend and they had plenty of them. They won’t get as many against the Victory and this leads us to believe they won’t have what it takes – along with their poor defence – to be able to earn a point on the road.
In our third leg of our multi we will be backing Sydney FC to return to winning ways on the weekend when they face Adelaide United on Saturday night. The Sky Blues were perfect throughout the opening six rounds of the competition and the side still remains undefeated. They have the best defence in the competition and also bolster the best attack. It is a lethal combination that will make any side be fearful and especially the side that is on the bottom of the table. The Reds are stranded with just two competition points as they are winless over the opening seven rounds. We can’t see them creating an upset in this one, especially on the road against the Sky Blues who will be out to make amends for last weekend’s draw.
In the final leg of our multi we will be backing Melbourne City to get the job done on home soil against Wellington Phoenix. In Wellington’s last trip to Melbourne they fell 6-1, that was at the hands of the Victory though and while we don’t think the scoreline will be as bad, we are predicting a comfortable City victory. City have one of the best attacks in the competition but they haven’t quite lived up to their expectations just yet. It is only a matter of time before they reach their full potential. Meanwhile the Phoenix are a hot and cold side that has struggled for consistency which could lead them to struggling in this one.
