2016-17 A-league Round 7 Betting Multi
The 2016-17 A-league season continues this weekend and after a disappointing loss last week in our multi after we went 3/4 we return looking to go one better.
To kick things off we will start with the Friday night match up between the Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne City. We will be backing the away side to earn the victory on the back of their strong attack. City have found the back of the net on 11 occasions in six matches this year and they haven’t yet reached their full potential. They went into cruise control against the Jets on the weekend after racing to a 2-0 lead but if they had of went on with it, they could have scored a huge win. Nevertheless, they held for the narrow 2-1 lead and earned the three competition points but they will look to improve this weekend and not go to sleep after getting a lead. On the other hand, the Wanderers have the equal worst defence in the competition as they have struggled to defend against every team this season. They will find it as a huge challenge to hold out City and it could turn into a long match for them if they fall behind early.
In our second leg we will be predicting Perth Glory to earn the three competition points on home soil against Adelaide United. The Glory have the advantage of playing on home soil and whilst Adelaide don’t have to travel as far as the other teams in the A-league, it is always a tough road trip in Perth. The Glory have struggled defensively this year but they are against a side that hasn’t been able to find the back of the net. This could be a low scoring match but if any side is going to put goals on the board it will be the Glory and we will be sticking with them to earn a close but comfortable win.
In our third leg we will be continuing to ride the Sydney FC bandwagon as we predict them to get the job done against Brisbane Roar. This is a danger game for the Sky Blues and it should test them as you expect the Roar to go to another level on their home soil and they always seem to lift for important matches. However, if you go off their performance against the Reds on the weekend then there is no reason to think they are capable of stopping the high flying Sydney FC side that has been close to perfect in defence and brilliant in attack. The side has conceded two goals this season but one of those was an own goal from a deflection and we can’t see them losing this weekend.
To wrap up our multi we will be backing the Newcastle Jets to get the job done on their home soil against the Central Coast Mariners. The Jets were disappointing in the opening 30 minutes of their contest against Melbourne City as they conceded two early goals but they didn’t give up throughout the match and continued to challenge for the win. It showed good character from the side and shows that they are in a good mental state despite struggling this year. Meanwhile the Mariners were the favourites on the weekend against the Phoenix who were without five international players but they didn’t show that on the field. They ultimately lost 2-0 but the score line could have been a lot more while they only created a handful of chances throughout the 90 minutes.
