2016-17 A-League Round 14 Betting Multi

The 2016-17 A-league season continues this weekend and we take a look at the four matches from Round 14 to produce the most value for our A-League betting multi.

To kick off our A-league round 14 multi we will be backing the Perth Glory to earn the three competition points at home against the Wellington Phoenix. These two sides will enter this match on the back of a draw as the Glory couldn’t hold on to their lead against the Wanderers while the Phoenix couldn’t find a winner on their home soil against Adelaide United. These two sides have been lacking creative flair in recent weeks and despite the great attacking players the Phoenix have at their disposal, they have scored just 13 goals this season. Meanwhile the Glory will have the advantage of playing at home while the Phoenix will have to travel a long way and play in tough conditions, it will end in them tiring and losing this one.

In our second leg we will backing Melbourne City to turn around what has been a dismal week for them and defeat the Western Sydney Wanderers. City coach John Van’t Schip has stood down as coach to head home and take care of his ill father. It has left the side without a full time coach but it may not be the worst thing for a team that has dipped in form. Since winning the FFA Cup they have dropped down the table and they need to return to winning ways to keep up with the sides above them. They have the best strike weapons in the league and a lot of experience in the side and they should be competing for the title. The Wanderers are a side that likes to share, or so it seems as eight of their 13 matches have ended in draws. We can’t see the side competing this weekend though as City will claim the three points.

In our third leg we are backing Melbourne Victory to be able to make easy work of the bottom placed Adelaide United and at a great price. Victory have climbed into second position on the ladder behind their 4-2 win against the Newcastle Jets on Monday night. The team had a few favourable calls but ultimately they were the better side. They have continued to improve over the past two months and when they are playing at such a high level it is hard to back against them. Meanwhile the Reds are a team that can barely buy a goal while their defence is poor. They won’t be able to challenge against a strong side.

To wrap things up we will be backing a ‘sure thing’ with the undefeated Sydney FC to defeat the Central Coast Mariners. The Sky Blues showed they are a class above the rest of the league with their 2-0 win against the second placed Brisbane Roar. They face a much easier task this weekend, as the Mariners are the worst defensive team in the competition. They are averaging more than two goals scored against them in every match this year and with the Sky Blues having the best attack, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that is a recipe for disaster for the home side. Sydney FC will earn their 11th win of the year on the back of their great defensive structure that has seen them concede just five goals while their attack will put them in the lead early.
