2015/16 NBA Playoffs Conference Finals

The NBA Conference Finals are upon us and it should be two huge battles between the topsides in the East and West as they fight it out for a spot in the NBA Finals. Continue reading as we have our NBA Conference Finals Betting Tips below.

Golden State Warriors (1) vs Oklahoma City Thunder (3)

The Thunder were able to overcome a lot of adversity in their semi finals series against the Spurs. They were blown out in the opening game and managed to win the next four of five games to advance. Russell Westbrook was huge in the series as he was in attack mode with the ball in his hands and scored a high number of points whilst continually got his team mates involved which will be vital for this contest. Kevin Durant also played at an incredibly high level and their hopes of advancing to the finals will rely on these two playing well together and combining for a lot of the Thunders points. However, their success will also depend on their role players contributing with Andre Robertson having a big task of defending Klay Thompson whilst Enes Kanter, Steve Adams and Serge Ibaka will need to use their side to attack the offensive glass and get second chance opportunities for the side when the Warriors go small.

The Warriors created history with the best record ever throughout the regular season as they won 73 games and lost just 9. Stephen Curry won back-to-back MVP awards and became the first ever player to win the award by a unanimous vote. He has the ability to take over a game by himself and despite being injured throughout the opening two series of the playoffs, he was able to be instrumental in the Warriors advancing as he returned in game 4 and led his side on a comeback and scored 15 of their 17 points in overtime. Their death line up will definitely be used throughout this series as they attempt to push the ball quickly down the court and run the Thunder’s big men around.

The inability of the Thunder to be able to close out fourth quarters this season has been their downfall. They lost all three matches during the regular season to the Warriors and whilst we believe this will be a competitive series and close, the turnovers by the Thunder in the dying stages will give the Warriors a massive advantage and they will ultimately advance to the NBA Finals.

Cleveland Cavaliers (1) vs Toronto Raptors (2)

The Raptors will head into their first ever Conference Finals full of confidence after overcoming two tough opponents in incredibly difficult series. Their first and semi final rounds went the distance to seven games and this could be an issue for the side as they will be running on tired legs throughout this series whilst the Cavaliers haven’t lost a match during the post season and have had a lot of rest. The Raptors will also be without their centre Jonas Valancunias which is a massive blow for the side as he has been a massive contributor and reason why they won two of the three match ups against the Cavs during the regular season.

The Cavaliers reached the Conference Finals with relative ease as their shooting has been lights out and they have set all sorts of three pointer records. If they can maintain this high elvel of shooting from behind the arc their will be no chance of the Raptors causing an upset, however if Kyle Lory, Demar Derozan and Demare Carrol can lock down the perimeter, it will be a massive boost for the side as it will limit the effectiveness of Kyrie Irving and Lebron James’s driving.

The Cavaliers have been able to avoid the disaster that essentially derailed their championship bid last year as they have remained healthy. Last season they were without Kevin Love and Irving for the biggest matches of the year and with those two in their line up they are a much more dangerous side on the offensive end. If they are to remain healthy, which they should considering the rest they have had they will be far too storng for the Raptors who will be exhausted after exerting so much energy into two seven game series victories.
