Steelers Bengals Football

The 2015 NFL season enters Week 5 and the physical game has been taking its toll on a lot of the teams with injuries to key players starting to pile up. Over the last two weeks our NFL betting tips have gone 6/8 and we will be looking to continue that trend into this week. Find our NFL Week 5 betting tips below!

Seattle Seahawks at Cincinnati Bengals (Monday 4am AEST)

The 4-0 Bengals host the Seahawks who have bounced back from a 0-2 start to be at 0.500 with a 2-2 record. However, the Seahawks were lucky to escape against the Lions with an incorrect call allowing them to receive the ball in the dying stages and hold on to a narrow victory. The biggest area they are struggling in this season is with their offensive line. Russell Wilson has been sacked on 18 occasions and if it wasn’t for his ability to scramble out of the pocket that number would be a lot higher and their record would be a lot worse. The failure of the offensive line has also impacted their running game and if Marshawn Lynch is unavailable for a second straight game there will be a lot of pressure placed on the shoulders of Wilson once again.

The Bengals have no such dramas as their offence is firing on all cylinders. They are averaging an incredible 422 yards per match as quarterback Andy Dalton seems to be taking the next step up in his career that has alluded in for years. He has thrown 9 touchdowns and only 1 interception this season and his combination with wide receiver A.J. Green is constantly improving. The Bengals will offer too much on offence and get the comfortable victory at home.

Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans (Sunday 4am AEST)

The Bills have had an up and down season so far this year and it is mainly due to their lack of discipline. In their recent loss to the Giants they were flagged for 17 fouls and gave up 135 yards making it close to impossible to win a match in the NFL. They will be looking to correct that as they head to Tennessee to take on the Titans who have suffered back-to-back losses before their bye last weekend.

Second overall pick Marcus Mariota has had an impressive start to his rookie season but he has also taken a couple of big hits. His offensive line will need to step up this weekend, as the Bills defensive line will be looking to heap pressure on the inexperienced player. The Titans won’t be able to rely much on their run either with the Bills only allowing on average 78 yards rushing thus far this year.

The Bills will be able to get the away victory on the back of their strong defence.

New England Patriots at Dallas Cowboys (Monday 7.25am AEST)

The Patriots are coming off a weeks rest and are in a great position to move to 4-0 despite travelling to Dallas due to the injuries the Cowboys have been plagued with. Brendan Weeden has been unable to have the impact he would have liked since replacing in the injured Tony Romo at quarterback and it is no surprise due to their best receiver in Dez Bryant also being on the sidelines. Weeden missed two massive opportunities to find an open Jason Witten for touchdowns against the Saints and it ultimately cost his team the victory.

Quarterback Tom Brady is having another outstanding season and his combination with tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Julian Edelman is continuing to flourish. Brady will no doubt find these players again this weekend.

The Cowboys will again rely on the run and the defensive co-ordinator will realise this and look to nullify it early, which will place a lot of pressure on Weeden’s shoulders. The Patriots will get a dominant away victory.

TIP: Patriots -8.5 @ $1.95 with Palmerbet

Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions (Sunday 7.25am AEST)

The Cardinals suffered their first loss of the season last week against division rivals the Rams. Quarterback Carson Palmer had his first off game of the season and he will be looking to bounce back strongly against the Lions this weekend.

The Lions injury worries to their offensive line got worse against the Seahawks with another two linemen going down with serious injuries. This leaves Matthew Stafford vulnerable in the pocket and will affect their running game that has already been struggling this season. Running back Ameer Abdullah has been fighting for every yard possible but is still only averaging 3.4 yards per carry whilst it is worse for Joique Bell who has managed only 22 yards from 20 carries.

The Cardinals will be looking to put as much pressure on Stafford and the running game as possible whilst Palmer will look to continue his combination with veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald who has found for five touchdowns already this year.

TIP: Cardinals -2.5 @ $1.84 with Sportsbet

San Francisco 49ers at New York Giants (Monday 11.30am AEST)

After starting the season with some promise against the Vikings, the 49ers have slumped to three straight defeats and have been very unimpressive in all three. They have struggled in defence leaking over 40 points in two matches, however it is their offence and more specifically their quarterback where they are struggling this year. Defences have worked out how to contain Colin Kaepernick as he has only passed for two touchdowns and thrown five interceptions this season. If it wasn’t for his ability to escape from the pocket and sneak for a first down this offence could be doing 3 and outs every possession.

Meanwhile the Giants are on a two game winning streak and arguably could be 4-0 if it wasn’t for wasting their opportunities in their first two games this season. Eli Manning has returned to form following his slump last year and he has thrown for 7 touchdowns and only one interception this season. The main area of improvement for the Giants though is their defence. They have been able to force turnovers in big moments of the game and win football games for their team. That defence will play a big part this weekend against the 49ers and allow their offence to do the rest.

TIP: Giants -6.5 @ $1.89 with Sportsbet
