2015 NFL Week 3 Betting Tips

We enter the third week of betting on the NFL season and a lot of teams have already been hampered by injuries to key players. We will take that into account with our 2015 NFL Week 3 Betting Tips article.

Washington Redskins at New York Giants (Friday 10.25am AEST)

The Redskins were able to pull off an upset victory last weekend against the Rams. Their offensive line was able to hold off one of the best defensive lines in the game, which should suggest Kurt Cousins will have plenty of time in the pocket this weekend against the Giants who are struggling to have any pass rush. Cousins has completed 76% of his passes this season and it has been helped largely thanks to their running game.

The Giants have blown two 10-point leads in the fourth quarter. Eli Manning hasn’t lived up to the two-time Superbowl MVP standards as he has failed to close out both the matches. He only has one dangerous wide receiver in Odell Beckham and they will continue to struggle until Victor Cruz returns.

TIP: Redskins @ $2.75 with Sportsbet

Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (Monday 3am AEST)

Andy Dalton and the Bengals have lived up to expectations early this season whilst the Ravens have been disappointing as many experts predicted they would reach the Superbowl.

The Bengals have a well-balanced game with their running game being dominant which has allowed Dalton and his passing to shine. The Baltimore defence will attempt to stop this but if they are unsuccessful at stopping the run early on then they will be forced to pay with Dalton having two solid options to throw to in A.J Green and Tyler Eifert who has scored 3 TD in two matches.

Joe Flacco has been below par and he was off target with a pass that would have saw his side take a seven point lead and instead they had to settle for a field goal which ultimately cost them the game against the Oakland Raiders. He will need to return to form this weekend otherwise the Bengals will run away with it.

TIP: Bengals @ $2.30 with Crownbet

Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys (Monday 3am AEST)

The Cowboys were dealt a massive setback last weekend as Tony Romo was sacked and broke his collarbone. The injury will keep him on the sidelines for 6-8 weeks and with Dez Bryant joining him for at least another 3-4 weeks Dallas is in a lot of trouble. To make matters worse there is an injury cloud surrounding tight end Jason Witten.

Meanwhile the Falcons have been tremendous on the defensive end. They have only recorded two sacks but they have been able to stop the run and that was evident against the Eagles and Giants. If they are able to stop the run again against the Cowboys it will force them to have to pass which will put their back up Brandon Weeden under a lot of pressure. They acquired back up quarterback Matt Cassle from the Buffalo Bills but he is unlikely to play this weekend.

TIP: Falcons -2 @ $1.95 with William Hill

Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers (Tuesday 10.30am AEST)

The Chiefs blew it last weekend with two massive decisions that led to their downfall. The first was their biggest mistake, leading by 14 points with just under three minutes until half time and with the Broncos only having one time out remaining they could have ran the ball and attempted to get a first down whilst winding down the clock to prevent Peyton Manning having a shot. They ended up throwing an intercept, which led to a touchdown and the scores were tired by the time half time was upon them. The second was the option to run the ball with 30 seconds remaining before overtime instead of taking a knee. It led to a fumble and a touchdown for the Broncos as they stole the match.

These were two of five turnovers for the Chiefs and if they aren’t able to hold onto the ball this weekend against the Packers they won’t stand a chance. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has an incredible record at home. In the last 17 matches at Lambeau he has attempted a pass 512 times, 41 have ended in touchdowns whilst 0 have been intercepted. It would be crazy to bet against the champion quarterback and that is why we will stick with him this weekend.

TIP: Packers -6.5 @ $1.91 with Ladbrokes
