Tottenham Hotspurs will face their third consecutive London derby as they continue their dream run to gatecrash the top four in English Premier League. Spurs will welcome defending Champions Chelsea to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon (29th November) and we will be looking at the match in our soccer betting tips article.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side is one of the form sides in the league currently, having stayed unbeaten in 12 league matches after the first round loss to Manchester United. Jose Mourinho’s struggles this season are well documented as Chelsea are stuttering in their title defence.

Spurs had to travel to Azerbaijan for UEFA Europa League match against Qarabag FK. Though his team won, Pochettino was not happy with the scheduling of matches – especially with an important one against Chelsea coming so close to the long trip. The Argentine would be wary of fatigue striking his side low but would want his wards to find motivation in the London derby.

However, Spurs rested many regulars for the midweek trip and players like Danny Rose, Kyle Walker and Mousa Dembele should feel suitably rested. But, key player Dele Alli misses out through suspension having picked his fifth booking of the season in the last match. In Ryan Mason, Pochettino has a readymade replacement but will he be able to master Cesc Fabregas?

Mourinho, on the other hand, is in the midst of an interesting battle of his own. The Blues’ title defence is in tatters with question marks on their ability to finish in top four. Though Chelsea stopped the downslide with a narrow win over Norwich in the last round, Spurs will be a difficult test for them.

Captain John Terry was stretchered off during the midweek win over Maccabi Tel Aviv and could be unable for the Blues. Eden Hazard is slowing coming back to the form that defined his season last year but still isn’t at his peak form. The waning influence of Diego Costa is a worry too as problems still exist for Mourinho who is desperately searching for a turn around. Will Spurs be an answer?

The previous Premier League meeting between these two sides ended in a 5-3 thrashing of the Blues with Harry Kane putting a memorable performance. He could again prove to be the difference for the home team. Back Spurs at odds of $2.48 (CrownBet) to pile more misery on Mourinho and win the match.
