2015 EPL: Man City Vs. Liverpool Betting Tip
Action resumes in English Premier League (EPL) in 2015 after the international break and all eyes will be on the match between Liverpool and Manchester City.
This game will be played at the Etihad Stadium (Manchester) on November 21st with the kick-off slated at 17:30 GMT and we will be taking a detailed look at the game in our latest soccer tips article.
Both sides will be eager to erase the memories of a bad outing in the last round of matches, before the international break. City drew away with Aston Villa while Liverpool lost to their nemesis Crystal Palace at home.
City top the EPL standings; but only on goal difference from Arsenal. Their recent form, though, is a cause of concern with the Citizens winning just three out of their last seven league games. This can be attributed to the absence of their talisman Sergio Aguero. The Argentine striker was out for six weeks with a hamstring injury and still is a doubt for this game.
Manuel Pellegrini will be buoyed by the impact of Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling but it is Aguero’s goals which are sorely missed. David Silva is another doubt for this match and Pellegrini must be worried if the absent stars will cost his side any points.
Jurgen Klopp has brought a sense of excitement to Anfield after he took over but the initial euphoria hit a road block with the loss to Crystal Palace. The Reds are still nine points off the table toppers City and have so much ground to cover from their 10th place.
It is still work in progress for Klopp as he builds his style and the ethos of ‘high work rate’ to the Liverpool team. They have conceded in the last ten minutes in two of their last three games and Klopp would be eager to address that. They will also be up against recent history as Liverpool are yet to record a league win at City since 2008.
Raheem Sterling will come up against his old club after he left in the summer in acrimonious circumstances. His pace could be tricky for the Reds as also his willingness to prove his doubters wrong. Overall, it is a great chance for the visitors to split points and be happy with a draw. Odds of 3.75 (at CrownBet) are being offered for the draw.
