2015 Copa America Preview

The flair of South America will be the flavour of next month as the Copa America kick starts on 12th June. The 44th edition will be hosted by Chile as ten South American nations are joined by Mexico and Jamaica for the major international football tournament for national teams in South America. Uruguay are the defending champions and also the most successful with 15 titles in the history of this event. Argentina is next in the ladder with 14 wins of their own followed by Brazil with 8.

The 12 teams are divided into three groups with Argentina grouped with Uruguay in Group B and Brazil with Colombia in Group C. Hosts Chile will have to compete with Mexico in Group A. The top two in each group will move to knockouts.

Hosts Chile will look to win the 99-year old tournament for the first time in their history. The golden generation of players including Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal will look to spearhead their campaign. The home side is offered odds of $5.00 by William Hill to come out on top.

Argentina has a star studded line-up at its disposal for the tournament. With an impressive team consisting of Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain, Argentina look all set to be a serious contender. At odds of $2.75 at William Hill, they are the pre-tournament favourites to lift the trophy.

Brazil seems to have dusted off their World Cup disappointment, winning all of their nine matches ever since. The likes of Neymar, Thiago Silva and Philippe Coutinho will try to overcome the loss of Oscar due to injury.
