2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – March 5

Toronto Raptors v Portland Trail Blazers
Welcome back NBA punters for what should be a great day of action across the association. It’s our favourite day to bet of the week with so many games to pick from, it should be a cracker.

Minnesota @ Milwaukee 11:00 AEDT

Minnesota have looked tired and really pretty ordinary across the board in their past few games. Garnett is out, Kevin Martin was bought out and the young bodies are ripe for the picking. Milwaukee’s length and athleticism should be able to control this encounter. Monroe and Plumlee are much better suited against a smaller, lighter centre as well.

Milwaukee have been an awfully hard team to get a grip on this season. They are most definitely lacking shooters and really need Jabari Parker to develop into a Carmelo Anthony type forward who can play inside and out just as effectively. The Bucks are a considerably better home team than they are a road team with a 17-11 home record.

Suggested bet: Milwaukee -4.5 @ $1.91 Sportsbet
Confidence level: 80%

Utah @ Memphis 12:10 AEDT

Even without talented centre Marc Gasol the Grizzlies are still a solid team with a nice veteran group that plays hard each and every night. They also have somewhat of a fortress in Tenneesse and are 22-9 while playing at home so far this season. Both teams have issues moving and scoring the basketball and this looks to be a real war of attrition.

Utah are losing grip on the Western Conference playoff race and have lost seven of their past ten games. They also have a pretty awful road record with just nine wins coming in 29 games away from Salt Lake City. We’ve got Memphis rated as 3.5 point favourites and they are good value at the money-line and at the spread.

Suggested bet: Memphis -1.5 $1.95 William Hill
Confidence level: 70%

Portland @ Toronto 11:40 AEDT

This looks to be a terrific game between two of the hot form teams in the entire NBA. It’s also a clash between two of the NBA’s best backcourt combinations. The teams however play a much different style. Toronto have a tough and gritty identity that is very much in-line with many teams in the Eastern Conference. Portland on the other hand can stretch you out, play fast, shoot threes and ping the ball around.

Portland have won eight of their past 10 games behind the brilliant play of Point Guard Damien Lillard. He’s developed into an underrated leader and has always been one of the most gifted offensive guards in the league. If we had an MVP ballot we’d have him in the top 5 right now for sure! Toronto deserve to be favoured at home but the current margin looks too big. Take the points and hope the young Blazers can keep it rolling.

Suggested bet: Portland +5.5 $1.95 William Hill
Confidence level: 70%
