2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – January 9

NBA FournierA huge NBA Friday (Saturday in Australia) awaits and as always its one of the best days to bet all week. Since we’ve got so many to choose from just our best bets are listed below. All present some juicy overs.

Orlando @ Brooklyn

Brooklyn are a mess. They put in one of their worst performances all year against Toronto and despite Jarrett Jack being a below average starting point guard they are really going to miss him. Brook Lopez will shoulder much of the offensive load and the Nets fate really rests in his hands. Luckily for Orlando though Vucevic has had Brook’s measure over the past two seasons.

The Magic have hit a little slump after playing their best ball in years under Scott Skiles. A few injuries and a noticeable lack of energy has contributed to this four game slide. The Brooklyn game has come at just the right time and we do expect them to bounce back. Keep an eye on Victor Oladipo’s points total in the game. Anything under 14 and we suggest taking the over.

Suggested bet: Orlando H2H $1.48 @ Sportsbet
Confidence level: 90%

Dallas @ Milwaukee

The Mavs are a good basketball team. They rested four starters (Pachulia, Williams, Matthews and Nowitzki) against the Pelicans and still beat them two nights ago. All four players return to the lineup tonight fit and healthy. The other positive sign is Chandler Parsons returning back to somewhere near his best. The Bucks are arguably the most disappointing team in the league so far this season. They simply can not get any stops right now. They’ve allowed an average of 114.4 points per game over their last five and Rick Carlisle’s Mavs will be licking their lips at the prospect of kicking them while they are down.

The game features two red hot three point shooters in Kris Middleton and Wes Matthews and that battle could prove to be an interesting one. However, the Mavs are playing more consistent and better basketball at the moment. Push the spread out to -2.5 on the ‘pick your line’ feature at Ladbrokes and take $2.30. An awesome price!

Suggested bet: Dallas -2.5 $2.30 @ Ladbrokes
Confidence level: 80%

Indiana @ New Orleans

Speaking of disappointing, the Pelicans have been exactly that. They are an incredibly hard team to handicap and the loss to a half-strength Dallas two nights ago pretty much summed up their season. Head Coach Alvin Gentry looks lost and the team is a serious trade deadline candidate. Ryan Anderson is a trade-chip that springs to mind. They have a horrible defence conceding the third most points in the league and look overvalued in the market today.

Indiana on the other hand have been a revelation. They’ve changed their playing style under Frank Vogel and the resurgence of Paul George has been a breathe of fresh air for the league. The Pacers are rolling right now, they are good value at -2 without CJ Miles but if CJ does play then our confidence goes from 80 up to 90%.

Suggested bet: Indiana -2 $1.95 @ William Hill
Confidence level: 80%

Rapid fire roundup

Cleveland should beat the Timberwolves but they spread looks about right. Same can be said for the Spurs and Knicks game. San Antonio are playing incredible right now. Take the over on Mirza Teletovic’s points in the Suns/Heat game as well. He is an underrated player who should see more minutes playing as a 4 or 5 in small ball lineups. He can shoot the lights out when he is on song.
