2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – January 16

Portland Brooklyn NBAA great day of NBA action awaits this Saturday (Friday US time) with plenty of value in the markets as well.

There are nine games going on across the association and lots of games that should be close. Those are the kind of games we like to bet on and our very best of the day are listed below!

Dallas and Chicago should be a great game but the early line looks about right at 2.5. If it happens to get out to 3 or even 3.5 we’d consider taking the points for the Mavs. Houston will challenge the Cavaliers and could be an option but with the Cavs playing the Spurs today there is no solid line yet. Keep an eye on our BetKing Twitter account for a potential play there. Boston will beat the Phoenix Suns at home and might be a nice multi-bet filler if you like to play that way.

Portland @ Brooklyn 11:30 AM AEDT

Interesting game, the Nets are coming off one of their better wins all year when they held serve in the battle of New York against the Knicks. They are not a good team at all but they do have a couple of good pieces and their lack of depth will be less exposed against a team like the Blazers. Lopez and Young should be able to dominate the likes of Plumlee, Leonard and Vonleh. Joe Johnson has also looked more alive in January with all of his key stat up on his early output.

The Blazers have been pleasantly surprising but do their best work at home. They are .500 at home and 7-15 on the road. That’s the big stat in this game. We assessed it pretty close to a pick’em with only a slight edge to Portland and think the line is a touch high right now.

Suggested bet: Brooklyn +3.5 $1.95 at William Hill
Confidence level: 75%

Washington @ Indiana 11am AEDT

The Wizards had a first half of the season to forget but have showed glimpses of getting things back together. The return of Bradley Beal is a start and hopefully Gortat and Porter are good to go for this one as well. If they are, expect the line to shift into -4.5. So this is a gamble in more ways than one but we do think the Pacers are ripe for the picking.

They look like they need the All-Star break to arrive. George looks tired, CJ Miles is shooting 32.9% in January and Rodney Stuckey will miss tomorrow’s game. The Wizards actually have a winning record on the road and we think this line is too high.

Suggested bet: Washington +6 $1.92 at Sportsbet
Confidence level: 75%

Charlotte @ New Orleans 12pm AEDT

Charlotte have been awful on the road this season (4-13) and the Pelicans desperately need to get back home as they’ve had a road heavy schedule thus far this season. The Pels play eight of their next nine in NOLA and they will have set a few goals for the home stand. It starts here!

Davis didn’t shoot the ball well but they did stand taller with him back in the lineup. He played a touch rusty and should be sharper tonight against an Al Jefferson-less Hornets who have won just three of their past 10 games including their blowout of Atlanta a few nights ago. Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evens are getting better every night and the Pelicans are ready to win a few games.

Suggested bet: New Orleans -2.5 $1.95 William Hill
Confidence level: 75%
