2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – January 13

NBA San Antonio SpursWe booked a small win for BetKing followers in our NBA betting preview last Saturday – some sloppy errors down the stretch from the Mavericks cost us a bigger return. Anyway, onwards and upwards as we look at a nice bunch of games Wednesday (Aus time).

Our NBA best bets and recommended agencies to bet with are below.

San Antonio @ Detroit

Don’t look now, the San Antonio Spurs are playing like the best team in the NBA…again! They are so obviously well coached, have such great depth and they manage the minutes of their key players so well. They destroyed the Nets on Tuesday and they are actually still unbeaten at home. Kawhi Leonard is in MVP form and there isn’t enough superlatives to describe how well they are cruising right now.

There are only four teams in the NBA the Spurs should be less than seven point favourites against and despite their solid play this season the Pistons are not one of them. The money line looks a nice multi filler at $1.36 but we are happy to take on the spread at -6.5.

Suggested bet: Spurs -6.5 $1.95 at William Hill
Confidence level: 85%

Boston @ New York

This is a great divisional match-up. The Knicks have surprised us this season and the young man Kristaps Porzingis has been great this season and their is hope back in the Concrete Jungle. Carmelo Anthony is also playing better and they wiped the Bucks off the floor a few nights ago.

Who’s the better team right now though? The Celtics are. Not by much, but they are. Have to take the better price here despite the three game slide they are on and back the genius that is Brad Stevens to sort it out. Playing David Lee less would help! We’ve assessed this a $1.95 pick’em and taking the overs on the boys from Bean Town.

Suggested bet: Boston to win $2.20 at William Hill
Confidence level: 75%

Houston @ Memphis

Interesting game this. Memphis’ ground and pound game can no longer win 50+ games in the league. We are convinced they’ll tail off and Houston will get better over time. Harden has played himself into shape and whilst things have not been perfect they have had some good moments under interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff. They’ve won their last three and will attempt to go above .500 with a win in Memphis. A team in which they really do match-up well against on our model.

Interestingly Marc Gasol is shooting below 50% from the restricted area this year and his overall game has dropped off a touch. The Grizzlies are in a really tough period where they are not good enough to win a championship anytime soon but too good to grab a lottery pick.

Suggested bet: Houston to win $1.97 Sportsbet
Confidence level: 75%
