2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – February 27
The Saturday (AEDT) slate of NBA games always produces a few crackers to bet on and this week is no different. A little profit churned in our NBA tips on Thursday, so here’s hoping for the same again today.
Washington @ Philadelphia 11:10 AEDT
The Wizards are still alive in the Eastern Conference playoff race despite a horrible loss against a banged-up Bulls yesterday. They are 5-5 across their past 10 though and they have been much improved. The 76ers on the other hand are on the ropes copping body blow after body blow. They have been beaten by an average of 16 points per game over their past four games without Jahlil Okafor.
Washington really need to win this game and we expect them to be ruthless. Gortat should have a big game in the pick and roll while the backcourt of Beal and Wall has the tools to dominate the Wizards.
Suggested bet: Wizards -8.5 at $1.95 @William Hill
Confidence level: 80%
Denver @ Dallas 12:10 AEDT
Dallas are on a skid as we pointed out in the last NBA betting column. The Thunder feasted on them on Thursday and they’ll be releived to face the Nuggets at home as they search for a confidence boosting win. The Rockets are stuttering but are still close enough to catch the Mavs and steal their playoff spot. There’s that and the fact they will want to dodge San Antonio and Golden State in the first round AT ALL COSTS.
The Nuggets can be feisty and pulled out a really tough win against the Clippers at Staples centre. They are running at .500 over their past 10 games and the bookies have taken notice. Perhaps too far as we are backing the Mavs to cover the spread.
Suggested bet: Mavericks -4 at $1.95 @ William Hill
Confidence level: 75%
Cleveland @ Toronto
Game of the night! Is this an Eastern Conference finals preview? It could possibly be! This will be a cracking game for sure as LeBron and the Cavs go up to the T-Dot to take on the second placed Raptors. The Raptors have lost at home six times this season and will be hell-bent on sending a message to the more fancied Cavaliers.
Cleveland has one thing up its sleeve that noone in the East can compete with… gears! They’ve got a sixth and seventh gear under the hood that the Raptors do not. Put simply, if both teams play their best basketball the Cavs could win by double digits. This spread looks 2.5-3 points too low.
Suggested bet: Cavaliers -1.5 at $1.95 @ William Hill
Confidence level: 70%
