2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – December 23

December 22, 2015 by Posted in NBA Tips

NBA Memphis GrizzliesWelcome back BetKing NBA punters. It was good to have a result on our last NBA betting column after a few 50-50 splits that are never much fun.

As there are only four NBA games tomorrow we’ve previewed all four and provided our suggested NBA bets in each!

Memphis @ Philadelphia

Memphis are not the team they once were. They are too big and one dimensional for todays NBA and you’ve heard it here first – you can confidently rule a line through their title chances. They need more ball handlers and shooters. However, they are well coached by Dave Joerger and they have enough talent in Conley, Gasol and Randolph that they will still win plenty of games this year. The Griz are 12-16 against the spread (ATS) so far this season and that seems to some up their season. They are not quiet living up to previous expectations and the championship window is closing.

Philadelphia are one of the toughest teams in the NBA to handicap. They are 1-28 and to be honest, that reflects pretty accurately how good they are. This team lacks talent and experience. Karl Anthony Towns has Kevin Garnett as a mentor whereas Jahil Okafor really has no-one and judging by his behaviour off the court, it’s showing. They are 11-17 ATS this season and have lead going into the final quarters of games at times.

Suggested bet: Memphis -10 @ $1.95 at William Hill
Confidence level: 70%

Dallas @ Toronto

Great game! Dallas are a favourite of ours. Performing well ATS (16-11) once again and reinvigorating careers in the process. Zazu Pachulia and Deron Williams are playing great ball for Rick Carlisle. Dirk is quietly having a great season shooting the ball as well as ever and the Mavs are a tough out right now.

It’s worth noting that Toronto head coach Dwayne Casey was an assistant in Dallas from 2007-2011. The Raptors just can’t get out of the blocks quick at the moment and it’s hurting them. DeRozan has had a really good December but they do miss the shooting and defence of the injured Demarre Carrol. This looks almost a 50-50 game on paper and for that reason we are taking the points on the Mavs.

Suggested bet: Dallas +4 @ $1.91 at Sportsbet
Confidence level: 75%

Detroit @ Miami

Interesting game featuring two of the Eastern Conferences better teams. Both teams are well coached but we have to give the edge to Miami when it comes to talent and the squads ceiling. When they are on song they are a top 4 team in the East, Detroit’s ceiling is slightly below.

The Pistons are a surprise packed to many this year however and as a result are performing very well ATS (16-11). The Heat should be able to stifle their relatively simple offence though and their superior bench or second unit will be the ultimate difference in the game.

Suggested bet: Miami -3.5 @ $1.95 at William Hill
Confidence level: 70%

Los Angeles @ Denver

A Western Conference late game that not many will be interested in. That is, unless you’ve got a bet on the game! The Lakers were blown out in Oklahoma City in a ‘men against boys’ type game. They’ll find the Nuggets a bit easier to handle defensively but still look to be up against it.

The Nuggets are a feisty 11-16 and a much better team than The Lakers who are probably the second worst team in the league right now. The Lakers are 4-23 on the season and 9-18 ATS. They are playing poorly against the opposition and the market place. That’s never a good sign but something you can often expect with popular betting teams like the Lakers.

Suggested bet: Denver -6.5 @ $1.95 at William Hill
Confidence level: 65%
