2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – December 2
We take a look at the best NBA bets on offer for Wednesday’s games. Just the one winner from our three tips on Sunday. Our overall record for the season is still very strong but it’d be nice to have a big bounce back day Wednesday with some value found in the early markets.
Dallas H2H $2.05 (William Hill) @ Portland
Crazy good price! Both teams are playing late West Coast games today and both will travel up to Portland at basically the same time. The Blazers have performed fairly against the spread (9-8) this season but at their best are a level below the Mavericks.
The Mavs are a playoff calibre team who are one of few teams in the West that seem to often be underrated in the market place. Rick Carlisle is a great coach and a great manager in the true sense of the word. He’s a system coach like Popovic and he has the ability to plug multiple new players in and keep the wins rolling. We’ve assessed Dallas at $1.70 and can’t see this early price lasting. Lock it in!
Orlando H2H $2.11 (Sportsbet) @ Minnesota
This should be a fun game. The Magic are on a winning streak they haven’t experienced in almost three years. Scott Stiles has always been a coach that preached defence and the Magic are listening, holding their opponents to scores below 100 in four of their last five games. The Magic are 11-6 against the spread and no doubt performing well against market expectation.
The T’Wolves struggled early in the season to perform at home but have improved in recent times. We expect them to put up a strong performance at home but think that the more experienced Magic look better value. Orlando assessed $1.80 and worth a bet in the early market.
Memphis H2H $2.00 (William Hill) @ New Orleans
We can see why there is interest for the Pelicans early here with the likely returns of Norris Cole and Tyreke Evans but the Pelicans have been so inconsistent it’s too hard to trust them. Both teams have performed below average against the market so far this season with the Pelicans the slightly more disappointing team.
The Grizzlies started slow but are now just easing into their work like a racehorse in need of that step up in distance. They’ve won six out of their past eight with the losses coming against the Hawks and Spurs (two elite teams). We like the Grizzlies toughness and consistency and they are the value team in this match-up. We assessed at $1.80 and happy to bet at the early price.
Washington +9.5 $1.91 (Sportsbet) @ Cleveland
Cleveland are in the midst of their best start to a season since 08/09 and are playing great at home. However, they are still doing it without their star point guard and looked sluggish against the Nets two nights ago when they were very lucky to scrape away with the win.
The Wizards have been marked as a poison betting proposition by us but did show some encouraging signs of returning to somewhere near potential against the Raptors. More importantly, we think they match up well against the Cavaliers. Beal and Wall to have big games and with the 9.5 start we are onto a winner!
