2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – December 19
G’day NBA punters, welcome to another BetKing betting preview. Another 50-50 split for us on our Wednesday NBA Tips in what was a frustrating day on the punt.
Thankfully, the show goes on and we get a chance to hit the scoreboard hard today! Our best plays are below. As always, make a point to shop around and get the best odds possible. Every inch counts!
Brooklyn @ Indiana UNDER 204.5 $1.91 (Sportsbet)
We very rarely bet points totals but this one looks a good one. The Nets are struggling and after a tough little run a road game against the Pacers is not what they need at all. We have a feeling they’ll go back to playing through Lopez in the post a little bit and play a bit slower. 204.5 seems a couple of points too high right now and is worth a small bet!
Orlando -5 $1.95 (William Hill) v Portland
The Magic are a really good basketball team right now! They are much improved and getting good production from all of their young players. Most importantly, they play good team defence. Coach Skiles should be in the conversation for coach of the year. They are about to play just their third home game for December and yet hold a record of 14-11.
The Blazers were blown out by The Thunder in Oklahoma City and are a much, much better team at home. The trip down to Orlando will test this young team whereas the Magic players will be able to sniff the playoffs. We are looking forward to watching young guards of Elfrid Peyton and Victor Oladipo go up against CJ McCollum and Damien Lillard but think the Magic are playing just too good to go against at the moment. Spread assessed at -7 and Orlando should roll on!
Sacramento Kings -2.5 $1.95 (William Hill) @ Minnesota
Minnesota just fell short of covering the spread against the Knicks in New York. It’s getting to the stage now where this young squad is struggling to put it together on a consistent basis. They will be reaching for the All-Star break in no time. They are capable at their best but -2.5 seems a gettable spread for a Kings line-up who are fresh off a very good home win over the Rockets.
Sacramento are a better team right now, it’s as simple as that. Although the Timberwolves will be the better squad in years to come right now the Kings should be able to handle business. Cousins should go big and the Kings will cover here. Assessed spread at -5.5 and happy to bet up.
Atlanta +4 $1.95 (William Hill) @ Boston
This should be a good game as two of the better coaches in the league go up against each other. Although we are surprised how fond Brad Stevens is of David Lee when all of our numbers point to him being counter productive. The Celtics have lost their last two and this looks a genuine 50-50 game.
Atlanta snapped an uncharacteristic losing streak against the league laughing stock (Philly) but are much better than that form reads. Paul Millsap is just a stud, averaging 18 points per game and shooting almost 50% from the field. He and Al Horford form a quality front line that should keep the Boston guards out of the paint and win the battle inside. We’ve assessed this game +1 Atlanta and the extra three points make this a betting situation!
