2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – December 17
Welcome back BetKing punters to another NBA preview. Thursday (Wednesday US time) is always a good day to bet on the NBA and as the early markets have gone up we are keen to lock in some prices!
Miami -4 $1.95 (William Hill) @ Brooklyn
Great value! The Nets have a starting core that contains three and a half starting calibre players and an awful second unit that Miami should be able to expose. They were able to fight back against the Clippers on Sunday due to a late run which really flattered them because they were soundly beaten. They were then trounced by a younger, better Magic team. This Heat team is every bit as good if not better.
The Heat are coming off two big back-to-back wins against +.500 teams in Memphis and Atlanta. Goran Dragic looks to be starting to find his groove and when he does he is a top 10 point guard in the league. Wade and Bosh are still savvy enough to contribute and they are well coached. The spread should be closer to 7 or 8 and they look a very nice bet.
Memphis +3.5 $1.95 (William Hill) @ Chicago
We’ve been watching both of these teams who are struggling a bit against market expectation closely. The Bulls seem like they are a trade away from being able to contend and Memphis are the same if not a bit more considering the top-end of the Western Conference.
Memphis found their groove on offence against the struggling Wizards and our model really likes the way they match-up against a Bulls team that has only beaten one team above .500 in December so far. We only wish they’d use Jeff Green as a stretch four a little more. We assessed the spread to be +2 Memphis in a tough game to handicap so happy to have a small bet at the money-line or with the start currently.
Oklahoma City -9.5 $1.95 (William Hill) v Portland
We have been impressed with the Blazers ability to play hard and perform above market expectation. The streaking shooting of McCollum and Lillard can win a game on any given night and they are getting solid effort out of their young big guys. Not to mention they are coached pretty well.
However, the Thunder are back baby! Well maybe not fully back but they are starting to look very dangerous. Kevin Durant is rolling and his efficiency on the offensive end over the past 6-8 games has been back on an MVP level. This looks a good match-up for the Thunder and Westbrook should have his way against the matador Portland guards.
Dallas H2H $2.56 (Sportsbet) @ Indiana
Sportsbet are the only major corporate betting this game currently because Paul George missed practise today with an illness. Their line indicates they think he will play, which is fine because even with him we think it is bit too high.
The Mavs are well balanced and back in the winners list after a tough win at the weekend. They match-up well against Indiana and we thought they were a $2.30 chance even if Paul George was to play. $2.53 seems a good gamble when you factor in there is a small chance the kid with two Beatles names may sit out.
