2015/16 NBA Betting Tips – December 12
Welcome back Bet King punters to our NBA Saturday December 12th preview and betting tips. Huge bunch of games as is the norm on a Saturday for the Aussies and plenty of value on the board.
We are looking to bounce back after the tough start to the week when the Bulls who were our break-even team blew a 20 point lead at home. Madness and the kind of stuff that makes sports and sports betting so much fun and so cruel at the same time. Unscripted drama! Let’s hope we get the bounce of the ball this time around and hit back hard.
Detroit -8 $1.95 (William Hill) @ Philadelphia
Detroit have been pretty good this season dealing with a pretty tough schedule early on. They really should have beaten the Grizzlies two nights ago and will be out to prove a point against the struggling 76ers.
Drummond and Ilyasova are proving to be a lethal combination and they’ll be tough for the inexperienced bigs to handle. Especially if Ilyasova stretches out Nerlens Noel to the three-point line.
Phoenix -4 $1.95 (William Hill) v Portland
The Suns ended a tough road trip with a character building win against the Bulls coming from twenty points behind. They returned home and were able to handle a hot Orlando team.
Bledsoe and Knight will be licking their lips at the chance to take on Portland’s sloppy guard defence and the Suns should win this one at home. The time spent without Tyson Chandler has enabled European shooters Mirza Teletovic and Jon Leuer to thrive upon more minutes and more responsibility. This is good for the Suns development and depth going forward as. The spread was assessed 6.5 on our numbers and looks a good bet early.
Minnesota -1 $1.95 (William Hill) @ Denver
The Timberwolves were not at their best when they let the Lakers take them wire to wire. That seems to be affecting the price here. The Nuggets are having trouble scoring the ball (26th in the NBA in points per game) and the Timberwolves are playing better on the road (6-3 this season).
We expect the Timberwolves young guns to be able to put up a score the limited Nuggets team can’t reach. Karl Anthony-Towns is going to be a superstar, he’s been even more impressive than the Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis and our early season rookie of the year. We have the spread marked at -3 and happy to bet them with William Hill’s special $1.95 line.
Oklahoma City -2.5 $1.95 (William Hill) @ Utah
The Jazz are a much better team when they have Gobert back in the fold. The Thunder look well suited with the Stifle Tower out injured and also are starting to find their rhythm a little bit.
The win a few nights back at Memphis was their best of the season and it wasn’t even close. The ball moved well and Kevin Durant moved freely. -2.5 is a juicy spread to bet into considering a fully healthy Thunder team is a top 4 team in the West and the Jazz are a fringe playoff team at best without Gobert. Once again, the line with William Hill represents the best price in the market currently.
Quick fire thoughts on the other games.
Cleveland should handle the Magic and were our next best bet of the day. Golden State and Toronto didn’t represent much value although both teams in “should win positions”. The Spurs should run the score up on the Lakers but the risk of Popovic taking players out or even resting a few makes chasing that spread dangerous. Washington and New Orleans are both too unpredictable to be betting on at the moment, especially when they play each other!
