India vs Australia 4th ODI Betting Tips

September 28, 2017 by Posted in Cricket Tips

India have taken a 3-0 lead in the series which means the remaining two ODIs are a matter of pride for Australia. For a side that is World Champion, the streak of losses in overseas ODIs is a cause of concern for the Australians. Will they come out of the rut? The Fourth ODI at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on Thursday, September 28th will give answers – provided rain relents.

The entire series has been about India’s batting might and their ability to wriggle out of tight situations. Of course, Australia contributed their bit with batting collapses from winning situations and fielding lapses to provide the hosts an edge. Now with only pride to play for – and probably a place in the Ashes squad – can we expect the visitors to fight back?

India – aiming for a series whitewash?
India came into the series after whitewashing Sri Lanka away from home but the Kangaroos were expected to be a tougher proposition. However, Virat Kohli’s men showed the gumption and skill to win key moments in all the three ODIs so far.

With Hardik Pandya’s emergence as a reliable all-rounder and the variety of bowling at his disposal, Kohli is looking flush with options. The hosts would aim for a whitewash but can they maintain their vice-like grip?

The fighting spirit needs to return for the visitors
Steven Smith has already admitted his frustration at letting India off the hook at key moments in the series. It wasn’t as if the Aussies didn’t have their chances; it was only that they couldn’t capitalize on them. They need to treat the remaining ODIs as one-offs and play to win.

Aaron Finch has shown in Indore that counter-attacking the Indian bowling can work wonders. Smith should be wary of more batting collapses but his bowling isn’t giving any comforts either. Injury to Ashton Agar will open the door for Adam Zampa but will the young leggie be able to lift their spirits?

Key Stats
Bangalore is IPL-home for captain Kohli and India enjoy a positive record at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. They won 13 of the 19 matches played here that includes an unbeaten seven-match streak going into this encounter.

Against Australia, they have four wins from six matches on this ground.

Picks
India start as heavy favourites to win the match. Odds of $1.57 (William Hill) make them a strong pick while Australia at odds of $2.50 (Ladbrokes) is a tight gamble. Back the hosts to win.

TIP: India to win $1.57 at William Hill

Pandya is the flavour of the season for the hosts as he keeps improving with every game. Back the all-rounder to score more than 28.5 runs at odds of $1.83 (Ladbrokes).

TIP: Pandya OVER 28.5 runs – $1.83 at Ladbrokes

A poor series so far (by his own high standards) and a game in front of his adopted home – is this a recipe for a big score from Kohli? Back the Indian captain to be their top scorer at odds of $3.75 (bet365)
