NBA Finals Preview and Betting Tips
After 30 teams battled it out for nine long months of regular season and playoff basketball, we’re now down to just two, with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors set to duel in the NBA Finals, kicking off on June 1st!

The Golden State Warriors overcame the Houston Rockets in 7 games in their epic Western Conference Finals matchup. The Warriors always seem to be fortunate with injuries to key opposition players in the post-season and this series was no different. Rockets guard Chris Paul was arguably the best player of the series in the first 5 games where the Rockets held a 3-2 lead, however, he sustained a hamstring strain in the last minute of game 5 and the Rockets went on to lose the last 2 games and the series in the process.

The Warriors have some of their own injury concerns heading into their NBA Finals matchup with the Cavs, with star sixth-man and member of the ‘Hamptons Five’, Andre Iguodala under an injury cloud after missing the last 3 games of the WCF.

Kevin Durant’s offence was one of the only constants for the Warriors in their WCF win. KD averaged 30.4 points across the 7-game series, which was the highest of any player. Stephen Curry caught fire in the back end of the series, exploding in the third quarter of games 5-7, while Klay Thompson and Draymond Green both had their moments.

The Cleveland Cavaliers advanced to the NBA Finals in similar fashion to the Warriors. After trailing 3-2 in their duel with the Celtics, LeBron James and the Cavs stepped it up and took care of games 6 and 7 to advance to the NBA Finals.

There’s only one name that comes to mind when the words ‘Cleveland’ and ‘Cavaliers’ get mentioned and that name is LeBron James. Some would say that his teammates and coaching staff don’t get the props that they deserve, although it’s easy to see why this is often the case when you look at the numbers behind his epic playoff performances this season. Let’s take a look at what he’s done in his matchups this post-season…

LeBron James 2018 playoff stats:
ECQF vs Pacers (4-3): 34.4ppg, 10rpg, 7.7apg, 1bpg, 1.4spg
ECSF vs Raptors (4-0): 34ppg, 8.3rpg, 11.3apg, 1bpg, 1.8spg
ECF vs Celtics (4-3): 33.6ppg, 9rpg, 8.4apg, 1.1bpg, 1.1spg

Series Prediction
It’s the fourth straight year that the Warriors and Cavaliers will face off in the NBA finals, with the Warriors yet again holding home-court advantage. The Warriors hold a 2-1 win/loss record over the Cavs in their three previous meetings, although this years Cavs still team is significantly different than the years prior, while the Warriors core has remained the same.

LeBron James has shown time and time again that he’s by far the most dominant player in the NBA today. However, the Warriors arguably have the 4 next best players in the series and will simply be too hard to stop. Warriors will take this out in a maximum of 5 games.
